  • Made in Columbus, OH, USA
  • Vintage:  1960's
  • Description:  This is such a cute pattern by Federal Glass, it looks like honey comb.  Federal Glass said they were inspired to make this pattern by private and museum collections of historic American glassware.  These snack sets were very popular starting in the 1940's, 50's, 60's and even into the early 70's.  The set includes the tray and a small cup, all with that honeycomb pattern and the plates have a very pretty border.  The cups have the Federal Glass stamp on the bottom, we didn't see any marks on the plates. There are 8 pieces in all, this will be heavy to ship, please keep that in mind at check-out.  Perfect for soup and sandwich, cake and coffee, a tea party, or appetizers and drinks.

The Federal Glass Company was founded in 1900, in Columbus Ohio. The company began operations making salt and pepper shakers, goblets, measuring cups, and jars for processed foods.  By the 1920's they had expanded and were making tableware, with patterns which we now call, "Depression Glass" such as:  Madrid, Colonial, Normandie, Mayfair, Raindrops, Parrot, Diana, etc.  Federal went bankrupt in 1977 - 1978, and closed down in 1980. When Federal Glass went out of business, Lancaster Colony, (the parent company to Indiana Glass), purchased their molds and Indiana Glass re-issued some of their patterns in the late 1960's through 1970's.
